This applies to both coarse and very coarse collections. I am in the middle of a project creating a table base from a brasiletta stump. The wood itself has deep curves and ridges that make reaching the bark very difficult. In addition the bark is difficult to remove. I saw these on line and purchased. What a difference maker. Able to strip deeper crevices with a lot less work. Only wish they had a little smaller heads with longer shaft to improve the reach.

Got this to rough carve spoons in western 1year old dry maple with a metabo die grinder.
You definitely have to pay attention as it cuts fast and use heavy leather gloves when inserting the burr in the collet.
It's great to work in curly maple because you don't have to worry about the direction of the grain .
