Level flat surfaces and establish straight walls.
Shape square shoulders and flat-bottomed recesses.
Ease pressure as you approach the finished shape.

Open-spaced conical teeth for fast removal with less loading in soft, wet or gummy woods.
The Kutzall 1/8″ Shaft Cylinder Burr gives you a straight-sided profile with a flat end for power carving flat areas, square shoulders and 90-degree corners. Both the sides and the end are working surfaces, so you can change the tool angle to round over an edge or make a V-cut. Choose this shape when your woodcarving project calls for defined transitions and flatter surfaces.
The 1/8″ shaft fits a matching collet or compatible adjustable chuck on a small rotary tool. Match the head size to the space you want to carve, and check your power tool’s mounting and speed limits before use.
Overall length: 1-3/4″Weight: .0625 lbs.
Head sizes exclude teeth. Allow extra clearance in tight spaces.
Metals, ceramics or hard stone.
Use a 1/8″ collet or compatible adjustable chuck on a suitable rotary tool, die grinder or flex-shaft handpiece. Hand drills and drill presses are not recommended.
Insert at least half of the shaft into the collet or chuck. Secure it according to your power tool’s instructions.
Recommended operating range: 15,000–30,000 RPM. Both material-removal rate and control improve as speed increases toward the burr’s recommended operating range. Never exceed the lowest maximum speed rating in your setup. Use light pressure and let the tool do the work.
Let your power tool stop completely before setting it down.
A few passes with a soft wire brush help clear material from between the teeth.
A torch can remove stubborn buildup from the metal working surface. The tungsten-carbide teeth tolerate the heat.
Kutzall’s tungsten-carbide teeth are securely brazed to the steel tool with a nickel alloy. Protect the teeth from impact against hard surfaces, especially while spinning. Let your power tool stop completely before setting it down.
Not for use on metals, ceramics or hard stone.
More on tool careLet the tool cool before handling. Keep heat away from handles and other non-metal components.
