Kutzall Rasps: From Renderings to Reality!

Creating the ultimate hand-carving tool, from concept to creation!

The new lineup of Kutzall hand rasps/files are finally here, and we couldn’t be more excited!

As craftsmen of quality, we set out on a daunting journey: create the ultimate hand-carving tool. We decided to take a common carving instrument found in most toolboxes, the humble hand rasp, and make it truly remarkable.

Our mission was simple, our hand rasps needed to bring the same quality and shaping power that our customers have come to expect from every Kutzall product, and they needed to be able to accomplish a wide variety of carving tasks: from detailed shaping in tight spaces, to the heavy hogging typically reserved for aggressive rasps.

Because of the virtually limitless shaping scenarios that our Kutzall users find themselves in, we realized that we weren’t just looking at “one rasp to rule them all,” but rather an all-star lineup of files, each with specific strengths tactically designed to compliment each other. Our product team went to work and digitally rendered this lineup.

After months of R&D, painstaking creation, and rigorous testing, we accomplished our mission in spades!

We ended up with a line of hand rasps that are longer lasting, and more versatile than traditional files or rasps. Using our signature Kutzall coatings, all of the rasps are extremely durable, resist loading, and provide effortlessly smooth multidirectional cuts.

So, if you’re looking for hand tools that are designed to get the job done and endure project after project, then look no further; the new lineup of Kutzall rasps/files are now a reality and ready for you. Order today!

  • Ed,

The Files/Rasps can be cleaned using either a wire brush, soaked in solvent or burned with a propane torch. We like to use a torch quickly and then knock the material off with few strokes of the brush. We see no reason why they wouldn’t be successful on pine knots, it just may require a bit extra cleaning.

  • How do you clean the files- and can they be used to file on wooden pine knots?
There is a lot of resin on these , how do the rasps work on it?

  • If these are the random carbide chips like the original Kutzall burrs and discs then I’m not interested. However if they’re the sharp conical toothed tools like the Kutzall Extreme then I want them. Please make rifflers like this, too.
