Good questions. Clear answers.

Before the sawdust starts.

A few details to help you get ready for your first carve.

Is this a good place to start if I’m new to power carving?

Yes. The workshop introduces the fundamentals through one guided project. Cecilia walks you through the tools, carving techniques, and finishing steps so you can build familiarity as you make your vase.

Do I need to own a Dremel or another rotary tool?

No. A rotary tool and flex shaft are included, along with the Kutzall 1/8″ shaft Rotor Saw burr and a rotary sanding attachment.

What should I have at home?

Have safety glasses and a dust mask ready before you begin. An orbital sander is optional for additional smoothing. Follow the workshop and tool instructions when setting up your workspace.

Is this an in-person class?

This is a kit with a digital video workshop, rather than a scheduled in-person class. Digital workshop access is included with the kit. Contact Kutzall if you need help accessing your class after purchase.

Does the kit include all the projects shown in the photos?

The kit includes one prepared redwood bud vase blank. The finished-piece photos show carving possibilities; additional vase shapes, bowls, and other blanks are not included.
