Full product details

Bring smaller woodcarving details into focus with four compact Fine-grade heads. The Taper, Sphere, Flame and Ball Nose reach fine lines, intricate textures and tighter spaces than the standard 1/8″ shaft kits. Each burr has a 1/8″ shaft for a compatible small rotary tool or flex-shaft handpiece.

Made in the USA, the structured tungsten-carbide teeth are brazed to steel for controlled material removal. Carve with or across the grain, using light pressure as you approach the finished shape.

Works with

  • Wood
  • Plastic
  • Drywall
  • Rubber
  • Fiberglass
  • Soft stone

Not for use on

Metals, ceramics or hard stone.

Mounting Guide

Kutzall burr shafts seated in rotary-tool collets
Match the shaft to your tool’s collet or chuck.
  1. Match your shaft size

Use a 1/8″ collet or compatible adjustable chuck on a suitable rotary tool, die grinder or flex-shaft handpiece. Hand drills and drill presses are not recommended.

  2. Seat the shaft securely

Insert at least half of the shaft into the collet or chuck. Secure it according to your power tool’s instructions.

  3. Use the recommended speed

Recommended operating range: 15,000–30,000 RPM. Both material-removal rate and control improve as speed increases toward the burr’s recommended operating range. Never exceed the lowest maximum speed rating in your setup. Use light pressure and let the tool do the work.

  4. Let it stop completely

Let your power tool stop completely before setting it down.

Caring for your Kutzall

Cleaning a Kutzall hand rasp with a wire brush
Brush away buildup

A few passes with a soft wire brush help clear material from between the teeth.

Using a torch to clear buildup from a Kutzall shaping wheel
Clear stubborn residue

For stubborn wood residue only, follow the torch-cleaning steps in our care guide. Let heated metal cool naturally before handling.

Protect the teeth

Kutzall’s tungsten-carbide teeth are securely brazed to the steel tool with a nickel alloy. Protect the teeth from impact against hard surfaces, especially while spinning. Let your power tool stop completely before setting it down.

Not for use on metals, ceramics or hard stone.

More on tool care

Let the tool cool before handling. Keep heat away from handles and other non-metal components.

    The 4 aces !

These burrs are outstanding. I'm not sure how I survived without them, but now I don't have to. I thought I was getting along fine with the standard burrs, but after I thought about a recommendation I saw by Jordy Johnson I decided to try them. Tremendous increase in ability to achieve desired detail. A set of winners !

    A great product

I ordered my Kutzall rotary burr kit in July but just now got around to using it. I’m very impressed. Not only did it do a great job but it’s made in Michigan and that is very near and dear to my heart. I still have some work to do on my gnome but it’s going to look great when I’m done.

    Awesome little bits!

So happy that these were made. They make roughing out detail features in my wood carvings a breeze. I highly recommend these. I'm a power wood carver of 30 plus years. Buy the set, you won't be disappointed!
