THE KUTZALL DIFFERENCE

The upgrade is in the teeth.

Kutzall’s structured tungsten-carbide teeth carve wood with a light touch, whether you work with or against the grain. Put your Dremel to work shaping contours, carving recesses + refining details.

The durable teeth are brazed to the tool with a nickel alloy. Their open spacing helps resist buildup, so you can spend more time shaping and less time cleaning.

Will these wood carving bits fit my Dremel?

Choose a Kutzall burr with a 1/8″ (3.2 mm) shaft and a rotary tool with a matching collet or compatible chuck. Check your model’s manual, operating speed and any attachment limits. The shaft diameter determines the fit; it is different from the cutting-head diameter.

Our 1/4″ shaft burrs are for larger tools and are not the option shown here.

Which kit should I choose?

Choose the Fine Detail Kit for smaller cutting heads, delicate contours + texture. The Coarse Shaping Kit is a useful choice for general shaping. Choose the 5-Piece Variety Kit to explore different shapes + grades in one set.

What speed should I use for woodcarving?

We recommend 15,000–30,000 RPM for Kutzall burrs, within the limits of your tool and any attachment. Within that range, both material-removal rate and control improve as speed increases. Use light pressure and keep the burr moving. Do not exceed the lowest rated limit in your setup.

What can I carve?

Kutzall burrs are well suited to power carving and woodcarving in softwoods and hardwoods. They also work on many nonmetallic materials such as foam and plastics. Do not use them on metals, ceramics or hard stone. Follow the material and tool manufacturer’s safety guidance.

Are wood carving bits and rotary burrs the same thing?

“Wood carving bits” is a common name for rotary burrs. Kutzall burrs use structured tungsten-carbide teeth to carve wood. Choose a shape for the contours you want + a grade for your material-removal rate.

Use a burr to carve the form, then sand where your project calls for a smoother surface.
