Quick Rules

What entrants
need to know.

When can I create and submit my mask?

Create your new, original mask during the September 28–October 28 contest window and complete the official website form by the published deadline.

Does the mask have to be wearable?

Yes. The finished piece must be designed to be worn on a person’s face or head. Wall pieces, plaques, relief carvings, and display-only sculptures do not qualify.

What should I submit?

At least one clear image of the finished wearable mask, transformation photos or video showing a Kutzall tool in use, the name of the Kutzall tool used, and a short description of your inspiration and process.

Must I show the starting material?

No. It is strongly encouraged because it improves the transformation story, but it is not a separate eligibility requirement.

Do I need social media to enter?

No. The website form makes your entry official. Social sharing is encouraged, and after submitting you’ll receive a branded “I Entered” image frame to help you share your finished mask and connect with the maker community.

Does my mask have to be scary?

No. Creepy, funny, cute, weird, friendly, and family-appropriate Halloween masks are all welcome. The concept and carving must be original to you.

May Kutzall share my entry?

Entrants grant contest and campaign display permission as part of the official submission. Separate permission for future marketing use is optional.

How does the $150 Community Drawing work?

Comment “I’D CARVE: [your idea]” on Kutzall’s dedicated community-drawing post between September 28 and October 4. One eligible participant is selected at random and announced October 6. The drawing is separate from the carving contest.

How does voting work?

People’s Choice voting takes place in the comments on one official @Kutzall finalist carousel. Finalists may share that post and invite their communities to participate, but votes count only in the comments on the official post. The first valid vote from each account counts.
